August is almost over, and the safari season is rolling on. Things are warming up in the valley.

We’re also giving a bit more focus on the birdlife of South Luangwa. Something we’re never short of! On game drives, bush walks, or simply sitting on your deck while at the lodge or one of the camps. There are always birds to watch.

cheetahs are back in Luangwa
After an absence of nearly 30 years, cheetahs are being reintroduced to the Luangwa Valley.
The first phase of this project is now underway, with 6 dogs released in a restricted area of North Luangwa. The project will continue for a couple of years, eventually releasing up to 18 animals. Open the newsletter to read the full story.
community & conservation updates
There has been great news and initiatives developing these past weeks for our associated organisations. Project Luangwa has been selected as recipient of a FIFA grant, while Conservation South Luangwa and Chipembele have been bringing episode of the BBC wildlife series KINGDOM to the villages. Great stories to read in our newsletter.
And then there’s a lot more… With incredible wildlife sighting like this baboon grabbing a bushbuck baby (photographed by our guest Michael Boundy), to Anke & Ron’s trip up North, and a beautiful video of the Sunset House seen from the air.
