Klaus Fenger, who hails from Bavaria in Germany, has joined Kafunta Safaris as our Bush Camp Manager for the 2014 season. Klaus has a lifelong passion for Africa and his work has taken him there many times over the years. After his time as a member of the German Volunteer Service in Ghana he crossed Africa from west to east and north to south (40 countries in total). Beside the African people, his heart belongs to the endangered nature and the wild animals of Africa.
The above photo shows Klaus in Burkina Faso touching one of the sacred crocodiles that reside in Lake Bazoulé. The locals have been feeding the crocodiles for generations and they are so used to people that they can be safely approached.
Klaus has worked as a professional tour guide in different parts of the continent. He conducted his first safari in 1981 to the South Luangwa National Park and since then he has returned regularly to Zambia. Klaus is an active member of the East African Wildlife Society.
