October Newsletter Highlights

Dear Kafunta Friend!

October has come and gone, without much rain so far. October is always a turning point in our safari season, as it means it’s closing time for our bush camps.

Operating deep in the wild comes with its fair share of challenges, unpredictable glitches, and complex logistics – but it’s also full of incredible rewards.

Elephants wandering through camp, nights filled with lion calls, and the humbling rhythm of nature -not to mention sharing these moments with wonderful guests- remind us why we do it all!

Behind the scenes, our teams are constantly adapting, fixing, and smiling through every last-minute change. None of it would be possible without their hard work, and huge heart! So we thank them all for being such key players in our operations, and for their amazing season.

Tourism Excellence Awards

During the late part of October, we reached out to our guests and supporters for their votes for the Tourism Excellence Awards presented by the Zambian Tourism Association. Votes were opened until 31 October, and we were nominated in three categories, including one for our super Guest Services manager, Betty! We now have to wait for November 29th to find out if we’re receiving any awards.

Zambian Nights at Kafunta

In this newsletter we also talk about the exciting cultural nights we do at the lodge, with drumming and dancing taking central stage! And a delicious buffet inspired by Zambian favourites.

And wildlife nights in the luangwa...

We’re also talking about our recent blog “After Dark in the South Luangwa“. Inspired by a recent article in the Travel Africa magazine, the blog explains everything that happens “or could” happen at between sunset and sunrise while on safari.
