August Newsletter Highlights
Dear Kafunta Friend!
This August, we’re making a splash with fresh news, inspiring photos, and – best of all – our brand-new promotional videos straight from the heart of South Luangwa.
As the season unfolds, we’re not just watching the wildlife, we’re also listening closely to our guests, many of whom highlight the unforgettable charm of our bush camps.
By the way did you read the articles we’ve been writing about how we’re revisiting luxury? Have a look here.
Our new videos are live
The excitement this month is the publication of our new promotional videos, which can be seen on our home page or respective property pages, but you can also watch them at once with our playlist on our YouTube channel. We want to thank Michael and Kleinjan, from Flink Studio, for the fantastic work they did when filming at the end of May. Four properties in 6 days, it was hectic! But we love the results.
Wildlife updates
This month, we dedicate a large space to the photography of two of our guests.
First is a selection of photos by Jacob Tan (@jacobtthphtography), who visited us with his family for a birthday reunion.
And next, we’re featuring photos by Stephan Tuengler (@stephantuengler), a professional wildlife photographer and travel agent, and a long-time friend of Kafunta. Stephan held his annual photographic workshop in August of this year, with a heavy focus on leopards.
If you are interested in joining Stephan in 2026, we recommend reserving early, as his group typically fills up quickly. The workshop is held in German and English, and will take place from August 21 to 30, 2026. Contact Stephan for information.
As always, we close with a look at our community and conservation partners. This year’s Wildlife Ranger Challenge with Conservation South Luangwa (their 6th consecutive participation!), and Project Luangwa‘s Sport Day, once again championed by our guest Joanna Martin.
You can support these initiatives with a small donation.
